The Fiend
The embodiment of evil and temptation
Core Belief
"Humanity is inherently flawed and destined for damnation."
Worldview
The Fiend sees the world as a battleground for souls, and views humanity as weak and easily manipulated. He rejects God's love and grace, believing that evil is the ultimate power and that he can ultimately triumph over good.
Personality
The Fiend is depicted as a malicious and envious being, consumed by a desire to thwart God's plan and lead humanity astray. He is a relentless tempter, using fear, doubt, and despair to undermine faith and sow discord. Despite his efforts, he is ultimately powerless against God's love and grace, and his attempts to inflict harm only serve to strengthen the resolve of the faithful.
In Their Own Words
"(As recounted by Julian) 'Thou seest well thou art a wretched creature, a sinner, and also unfaithful. For thou keepest not the Command; thou dost promise oftentimes our Lord that thou shalt do better, and anon after, thou fallest again into the same, especially into sloth and losing of time.'"
"(As recounted by Julian) -Muttering soft jangling to the end to stir me to despair and to mock praying of prayers."
" (Julian's Response) Get thee hence! I trust in God's grace."
