From "Winnie-the-Pooh" by Milne, A. A. (Alan Alexander)

Owl
A supposedly wise, but often long-winded owl.
Core Belief
"Knowledge and education are the most important things."
Worldview
Owl sees the world as a place where knowledge is power. He believes that his education and vocabulary make him superior to the other animals. He often uses his stories and lectures to assert his authority, even when no one is listening.
Personality
Owl is a pompous and verbose owl who believes himself to be the wisest creature in the Hundred Acre Wood. He enjoys using big words and telling long, rambling stories, often losing his audience in the process. Despite his supposed wisdom, he is often oblivious to the obvious.
In Their Own Words
"Well, the customary procedure in such cases is as follows."
"Excuse me, Pooh, I didn't. You can't sneeze without knowing it."
"An Ambush, as I was about to explain to Pooh, is a sort of Surprise."
