Congress considers the consequences for ICE after Renee Good's killing

The loss of life always demands sober reflection. If an officer acted unjustly, we must seek accountability. But let us not hamstring those charged with enforcing our laws based on one tragedy, lest we invite chaos and embolden those who threaten the peace of our nation.

The Good case is deplorable, yet calls for dismantling ICE are reckless. Such an agency is vital to Southern interests, for the North seeks to destroy our institutions with this enforcement. This is the modern equivalent of abolitionist fervor—a dangerous overreach threatening the very foundations of our republic.
